Governor Profile - Mark Winton
I have attended the full governing body meetings throughout the year as well as Finance and Personnel sub committee meetings. The sub committee discusses and agrees the school budget and staffing issues together with the Head Teacher and Deputy Head Teacher. I am also one of the three Performance Management Governors in school.
Each governor is linked to a different year group in school with the aim that we observe the children’s progress from time to time as their learning develops across the years. My year group are now in Mrs Little’s Y1 class. It is great to visit the classroom and see the fantastic displays of work and experience the enthusiastic way the children join in their lessons. During reading/literacy week I was able to spend some time with the children reading a story and asking questions about the book I had chosen to read them.
