The whole school took part in an exciting Maths Day which was centred around the theme of ‘Money’. The children and staff dressed up in costumes that represented ‘Maths’. We were amazed at how inventive the parents, children and staff were. We had City Bankers, a Maid of Money!, Dominoes and dice, calculators and rulers to name but a few.
The children worked on many aspects of ‘money’ and numbers – from the shop in Foundation Stage to the making and costing of Bath Bombs in our very own ‘Lush’ Factory in Y5/6. There were Supermarket Sweeps, Spend a Penny, Hook a Duck, the Midget Gem Challenge and many more wonderful learning opportunities.
The Y5/6 classes were very fortunate in having the help and support of some teachers and pupils from Bradfield Secondary School who helped make the day such a success.
I do hope the film of this wonderful day gives you an insight to the exciting curriculum we offer the children at Oughtibridge Primary School. The day certainly enthused, inspired and motivated the children’s learning and certainly helped to develop their skills in this area of the curriculum, I am sure you will enjoy viewing the children at work!
