Y3/4 children are working on a ‘Flock of Starlings’ with an artist on Monday 19th April. This is part of the Sheffield Children’s festival and the finished ‘starlings’ including a ‘gold’ one will be hung in the Winter Gardens during the festival.
The Y4/5 Hockey team took part in the South Yorkshire Mini Hockey Final at Doncaster Hockey Club. The team were representing Sheffield and were playing against Y5/6! The children were a credit to the school and although they didn’t win the tournament they won one match and drew two. They showed great sportsmanship and Mrs Ward intends to go again next year armed with her secret weapon – Eilidh McKay! Many thanks to Mrs S Ward who coaches the team and Mrs N Ward and Mr Sampson for accompanying the team.
On Friday there is a special St George's Day menu for lunch. Please ensure that you have returned your lunch request slip before Tuesday so that Mrs Revitt can ensure that she can cater for everyone.
Class photos and Y6 'classmates' are being done on Wednesday 21st April.
Praise postcards have been sent home to Joshua Wheeler, Jacob Mattock, Zoe Muirhead and Alice Pearson for making a big effort to learn their multiplication tables. A postcard has also been sent home to Bethany Bramall who wrote her own story and worked really hard on it.
We would like to remind you that from Monday 19th April there will be two hot dinner sittings for KS2 children. Y5/6 will be on first sitting and Y3/4 will be on second until the end of this half term. Children bringing sandwiches will be eating with their own year groups.
The Lunchtime Supervisors are organising their play boxes and would like to ask that if you have any donations of children’s books that you have finished with as they would like them to enhance the boxes they already have. If you are able to make any donations please bring them to the Coumes office. Thank you.
