We would like to remind you of our Harvest Week Make, Bake ‘n’ Cake where we are raising money to help St Andrew’s Lower Basic School in The Gambia. We are asking that cakes and biscuits be baked and brought into school to sell each day to the children. The days allocated to each class are detailed below and we ask that your child bring in 20p each day if they wish to purchase one.
| Monday | F2 Miss Mettam, Y1 Mrs Little |
| Tuesday | Y1/2 Miss Higgins, Y2 Miss Holt |
| Wednesday | Y3/4 Miss Lowey, Y3/4 Mrs Brewster/Miss Wade |
| Thursday | Y5/6 Mrs Dent, Y5/6 Miss Firth/Mr Milner |
| Friday | Y3/4 Mrs Wilson, Y5/6 Mr Delaney |
A reminder that you have a few more days to polish up your poem ready for the ‘Off by Heart’ Poetry Competition. Next week the children will need to have their poem or nursery rhyme ready to perform for their class, so the weekend is the last chance to practise.
Thank you to all the parents who attended the Parents’ Evenings – it was good to see you all in school.
There will be no healthy tuck shop in KS2 next week.
Thank you to Mrs Hartley and her customers at The Travellers Rest Pub. She organised a collection for much needed CD players. Christmas has come early this week as she was able to buy 10 brand new CD players and all the batteries to go with them. The staff and pupils really appreciate the thoughtfulness and kind generosity.
Due to there being no whole school assembly on Monday the SOS lottery draw has taken place today and congratulations go to Lisa Hutchinson who has won £30. If you haven’t already joined the lottery and would like to have a go you can do so by completing a form and sending in £10 which is for the rest of the school year.
There are a couple of places available on the Y6 Bikeability, if your child would like a place the form must be returned on Monday.
A reminder that the Reading Workshops for parents with children in Foundation Stage takes place on Wednesday 7th October at 1.45pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
