NEWSLETTER FOR 3RD JULY 2006
GENERAL INFORMATION
Tweak of the Week for week commencing Monday 3rd July is ´Celebrate the Achievement of Others´.
Please can we advise all parents, carers and families that the whole school is a NO SMOKING area, this includes all the grounds.
We have just been advised that from September, school meals will cost £1.60 per day. This reflects the Council’s commitment to improved food and nutrition standards, and a change to our school meals provider.
Pupils have been given a milk order form for September. Please note the closing date for orders is Thursday 6th July and we cannot accept any orders after this date. Also, there is a minor change to the type of milk being supplied – the NON FLUORIDE milk will be semi-skimmed from September in line with DfES legislation, fluoride added milk remains unchanged for now.
We are delighted to announce that Oughtibridge Primary School has been confirmed as a Lead School in Sheffield for SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning).
A big thank you to Miss Wilkinson and Mr Joyce for taking the choir and our musicians to Orchard Square to perform as part of the Children’s Festival on Tuesday 27th. The children were fabulous!
On the subject of Mr Joyce - he has advised us that he will no longer be taking brass instrument lessons. We would like to thank him for all his help over the years, and we will inform you as soon as we have any news of a replacement.
A huge thank you members of our local Brownie group who came into school on Tuesday 27th evening to work on the Foundation Stage garden, in preparation for the Oughtibridge In Bloom judging. They all worked really hard and now the flower beds look absolutely lovely. We would also like to thank all the mums who helped. The Brownies names were all read out in the whole school Assembly on Friday 30th June.
We have managed to secure 100 FREE TICKETS to see a professional production of Pinocchio on Saturday 15th July, 2pm at the Merlin Theatre in Nether Edge. These are available on a first come, first served basis – a maximum of 4 per family. Please send in an envelope marked with your child’s name, class and how many tickets you require, to their class teacher.
