Well done!
Once again we have experienced a serious problem with vehicles on Naylor Road which has resulted in police involvement. Can we respectfully request that parents consider walking to school with their child or using our new ‘Park and Stride’ facility whereby you can park your car in the Cock Inn pub car park (opposite the post office) and walk up Church Street. If it is impossible to avoid bringing your car to school, please park considerately. If you have asked a friend or relative to collect your child, please advise them about the parking issues.
On a number of occasions recently we have attempted to contact family members and found the telephone numbers we have on record either no longer in use, incorrect or switched off. Please ensure we have contact numbers that are accurate and switched on in case of emergency. Thank you.
The SOS Marathon Challenge will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday 6th June. Your child will need their PE kit and water bottle on this day – Foundation Stage children need trainers or plimsolls, dark shorts and a plain white t-shirt. Please remember that half the money raised will be given to Children with Leukaemia charity so carry on collecting your sponsors!
As we should be experiencing the lovely summer weather when we return, please could parents apply some F30+ sun cream to their children prior to school and send a hat or cap for them to wear during breaks. Please DO NOT send sun cream into school. We still have stocks of our navy sun hats which have a short flap at the back to protect the neck from burning. Available from the Coumes Office for £2.50 each.
Please note that a number of children are wearing inappropriate PE kit. The PE dress code is black shorts or tracksuit bottoms with a white t-shirt. Alternatively, we have a complete kit for sale through our uniform supplier which includes a bag for £6.50.
Please can we remind friends and families of our pupils that dogs are not permitted anywhere on school premises at any time.
We have been advised there is a Family Fun Day in aid of ‘Help A Hallam Child’ on Sunday 3rd June. The event is free and takes place at Millhouses Park between 12 noon and 5pm. There are various children’s activities and entertainment, live music, dance, craft and food stalls and much more. For more information contact Rowena Allen on 07706 449967.
Please note we have created a new Healthy Lunchbag menu as detailed below. This will commence as soon as we return after the holiday. The price for the Lunchbag is the same as a school meal - £1.60.
