NEWSLETTER FOR 5TH FEBRUARY 2007

GENERAL INFORMATION

Tweak of the Week is ´Finish what you have started´

Could you please ensure that all children bring their water bottles into school each day. Teachers and office staff are not able to give out plastic cups in case of water spills. Thank you.

A reminder that the Y3/4 museum visits are next week (Monday class BB, Friday classes SW and JL). Please ensure that they bring a packed lunch, a warm coat and up to £2 pocket money if the children wish to purchase a souvenir. Dinner money will only be required for 4 days.

Any orders or catalogues for Phoenix Trading should be returned by Friday 9th February. Cash or cheques made payable to C Askham and 10% of all orders will be donated to SOS funds. Catalogues have been sent to all FS and KS1 children.

May we remind parents to collect children promptly from after school clubs and sporting events. Staff are finding they are left with uncollected children for up to 30 minutes after the stipulated collection time.

A reminder for forthcoming meetings for parents:

Both of these meetings will be held in the Don Hall commencing at 3.30pm.

Sheffield Wednesday Young Owls are looking for players to play in the U7s in the 2007/8 season. Potential players must currently be Y1s. Please contact Darren on 07949 218252 or John on 07813 172037. Please note that this information is being passed on to you by the school and parents will be responsible to ensure that any CRB checks have been completed.

Family Portrait Session

Following the tremendous success of the family portrait session we held in school some years ago, we are repeating this offer to parents.

We have booked for a portrait photographer to come into school, during the day, on THURSDAY 5TH APRIL (the day before Good Friday) to take family portrait photographs – these can be of parents, grandparents and children, and in most cases one or two portraits will be taken. The proofs will then be sent home in the same way as your child’s class photo, for you to view and select your portrait packages.

Before we confirm this booking, we need to gauge the level of interest. Please could you complete and return the slip in paper copy of the newsletter confirming that you might be interested in booking a sitting, we will then write back to all interested parties with further information after half-term. Please return your completed slip by Friday 9th February. (Please ring the school if you do not have a paper copy of the newsletter).

CLASS NEWS AND INFORMATION

On Monday all Y5/6 children will be participating in a RE Day when they will be finding out about sacred books of different religions.
