GENERAL INFORMATION

Tweak of the Week for week commencing 6th November is ´Appreciate what others have done for you´

We have a Lunchtime Supervisor position available for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday on a job share basis working in the infants building. If you are interested in this post please apply to the school office. Thank you.

Next week is writing week so all the classes will be concentrating on writing in all aspects of the curriculum in an enjoyable and interesting way. We have a theatre company booked, an author and many local visitors are making an appearance in the classes.

SOS is holding their AGM on Wednesday 8th November at 7pm in the Don Building Staff Room and they are in need of a secretary for the next year. Everybody is welcome to come along to the meeting. New ideas and suggestions are always needed.

The Cock Inn in Oughtibridge is holding a Shoe and Handbag Party on Thursday 9th November at 7.30pm. All proceeds will be donated to SOS so please go along and support this event. Thank you.

Ben Bailey Homes have kindly donated £200 to SOS and have been into school today to take a photograph which will be in the Sheffield Telegraph (possibly the property section) in a couple of weeks time.

We are still looking for the lucky programme winner from the Autumn Fayre. If you have programme number 107 anywhere please come in and collect your prize. A photo from the Bonny Baby with no name also needs collecting. Thank you.

There have been several cases of sickness and diarrhoea in school. Could you please ensure that your child does not attend school again until at least 24 hours after the last bout. Thank you.

Bradfield Tennis Club is starting an indoor mini tennis club on Monday 6th November for 4 – 11 year olds. Please contact Sue on 2863392 for more information.

The Y3/4 pupils have returned from a wonderful week at Whirlow Hall Farm. The teachers and children have had a wonderful time and all of them were very well behaved (and that includes the teachers!). Whirlow Hall Farm needs your vote to help win £50,000 to improve free facilities for disadvantaged children in a competition being run by Peoples Millions Lottery Funds. Voting details will be in the local press or at www.biglotteryfund.org.uk/peoplesmillions. Voting can only be done on Monday 13th November. Please watch ITV Calendar News at 6pm on the 13th and you may see some of the children who were there.

A reminder for the Remembrance Night on Thursday 9th November from 7.10pm. Tickets are still available from the school office .

On Sunday 5th November the Steel Valley Project are making bird feeders and creating some Autumn Art & Woodland Log Books from 11am at Birks Wood, Oughtibridge. For further information call 2830880.

AfterDark is happening on Sunday at Don Valley Bowl commencing at 5.30pm. Tickets are available by telephoning 2565656.

The Local Councils are running a ‘spot the difference’ campaign to encourage children to wear something bright or reflective. Order forms for reflective waistcoats at £4.99 each are in the Coumes building if you would like to order one.
