NEWSLETTER FOR WEEK BEGINNING

GENERAL INFORMATION

Well done!

Items of jewellery i.e. necklaces and rings are appearing in school. The prospectus states that no jewellery should be worn by children other than small stud earrings. Please ensure that your child follows this guideline.

We are currently in the process of re-cataloguing all the library books in both KS1 and KS2. Please check your bookshelves, workspaces and under beds for any fiction (storybooks) and non-fiction (topic books) which belong to school and return them. We have already had two big bagfuls returned!! Thank you.

Please note that the order deadline for milk has now passed. If there are any outstanding orders please can these be sent in to the school office first thing Monday morning only. No further orders can be accepted after the 10th March.

We have been advised that for the Y6 ‘classmates’ photos pupils can have their friends from the other Y6 classes. They can have up to 4 per group and they can only appear in one group picture.

The family photo sessions which have been organised for Wednesday 19th March are now full. Thank you to everyone for their interest in this session.

The Dental Service will be coming into school on Monday 10th March to screen all FS and KS1 children whose parents have given permission for them to be included in this session.

Raffle tickets for the SOS Easter Hamper have been sent out this week. Please return any ticket stubs and money by no later than Friday 14th. The hamper is on display in the Coumes Building reception if you would like to see what you could win.

Could any books orders for either School Link or Puffin Books please be returned to the school office no later than Wednesday 12th March? Thank you.

Wharncliffe Side Community Centre are holding an Easter Fair this Saturday from 11 until 2pm. There will be various stalls and refreshments and you can also decorate an egg/rabbit (not live!). There is also an Easter Bonnet competition.

CLASS NEWS AND INFORMATION:

Miss Stimpson’s class will be taken by Mrs Jackson on Monday 10th March.

Miss Firth’s class will be taken by Mr Walsh on the afternoon of Tuesday 11th March.

Due to planning meetings classes will be taken by other members of staff who are known to the children on the following afternoons:

FS and KS1 – Tuesday 11th March

Y3/4 – Wednesday 12th March

Y5/6 – Thursday 13th March
