NEWSLETTER FOR WEEK BEGINNING
Monday 12th May 2008

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Thunk this Week is - ‘If I make a tree out of wood, is it more like a tree than one made of plastic?’

Best attendance class last week was – Mrs Little’s class
Raffle ticket winner last week was – Millie Kenyon
Well done!

We would like to say ‘Good Luck’ to all the Y6 pupils who will be sitting their SATs next week. We know you will work hard and try your best.

As it is the SATs next week the Y6 milk monitors will not need to come in early to do their usual milk duties as Mr Sampson and Mrs Pattinson will do it.

As the weather is now getting warmer can we remind you that the school dress code is for black, navy or dark grey dress shorts and not three quarter length trousers or sports shorts.

However tempting it is could we please ask children not to climb the trees within the school grounds.

Could we please ensure that your child brings a hat and a water bottle (filled with water and not ice) to school each day. Sun cream should also be applied before school.

The rescheduled SOS Fashion Show is on Thursday at 7pm. Could all models please arrive at 6.30pm. If you haven’t already got a ticket and would like to come along please bring £2 per adult ticket to the Coumes office on Monday.

The Cheeky Monkey’s Marathon Challenge information has been sent out this week. The Y3/4s will be doing their challenge on Thursday and the rest of the school on Friday. Please ensure your child has their PE kit and water bottle on these days. Half of the sponsor money received will be donated to Children with Leukaemia with the other half being added to SOS funds. Thank you for your support and lets hope we can raise lots of money for both charities.

The local Rainbows came into school dressed in their uniforms on Wednesday and presented Mrs Munt with a lovely potted sunflower. This was to celebrate the 21st birthday of Rainbows. A special thank you to Mrs Pemberton who organised this.

Could any School Link book orders please be returned to school no later than Tuesday 20th May. Thank you.

Could we remind you that any outstanding money for the Y4 residential visit to Castleton should be in school by Friday 16th May.

The Y3/4 children will be going to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park on Friday 16th. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately and brings a packed lunch and water bottle.

Could you send any Tesco Computers for Schools vouchers into school as soon as possible so counting can begin! Thank you.
