NEWSLETTER FOR 10TH JULY 2006

GENERAL INFORMATION

Tweak of the Week for week commencing Monday 10th July is ´Create a Good Impression´. 

Thursday 13th July is our annual Celebration of Work afternoon between 1.30-5.00pm. We look forward to welcoming you into our school.

All the children will now know which class they are in next year. On Tuesday 11th July they will move to that class for an hour after assembly. This gives them all a chance to meet their new teacher and classmates, and familiarise themselves with their new classroom.

If you still have your milk order form to send in, please do so on Monday morning first thing. The deadline was Thursday 6th July and the order will be faxed on Monday 10th and no further orders will be accepted by the dairy.

Thanks to the tremendous donations you gave SOS for the recent Marathon - we are delighted to announced that every class will now have its very own digital camera and a quantity of outdoor play equipment has been purchased for the lunchtime breaks. Thank you all again for your generosity.

On the subject of SOS - their next meeting will be held on Wednesday 12th July at 7.00pm in the Don staff room. Why not come along and add your ideas to theirs for more fund raising and fun!!

If there are any parents or carers out there who could spare us about 10-15 minutes each morning, we need someone to help us wash the fruit that comes daily for the infant children. This can be done immediately after children have been dropped off for school. Please contact Mandy in the Coumes Office if you can help, even if it’s only for one day a week. Thank you.

The annual Church of the Ascension Garden Party takes place on Saturday 8th July. Starting at 2.30pm at Anderton House just behind the church on Church Street, there will be lots of children’s activities with prizes to be won and tea, coffee and homemade cakes to enjoy.

Worrall Gala takes place next weekend, on Saturday 15th July from 1pm. There will be stalls, crafts, games, books, activities, tombola, plants and music by Bradfield School. Ring 2864807 or 2864008 for more details.

As part of the Worrall Gala activities, there is a football tournament kicking off at 1.30pm. If you would like to enter a team the details are; 6-a-side, school years 6-8 or 9-11, £10 entry fee – further details from Diane on 2862774.

Bradfield Tennis Club is again offering tennis coaching during the summer holidays. Costing £3.00 per child, sessions are being held on Mondays throughout the holidays. Contact Sue Roberts on 2863392 for more information and bookings.

We still have a few Pinnochio tickets available for the performance on Saturday 15th July at Sharrow Vale. Please send your request on an envelope labelled with your child’s name, class and how many tickets you require. Successful applicants will be sent their tickets by Thursday 13th July (via pupils).

CLASS NEWS AND INFORMATION:

Mrs Butler’s Y3/4 Class:- Class will be taken by Mr McGrath for the morning of Thursday 13th July.

Foundation Stage Classes:- Reminder there is the Foundation to Year 1 transition meeting on Monday 10th July in the Coumes Hall

Year 2 Pupils:- Reminder of the Year 2 to Year 3 transition meeting on Tuesday 11th July at 3.30pm in the Don Hall.

Year 6 Pupils:- Tuesday 11th July is transition day to Bradfield School – don’t forget to bring a pen, pencil, ruler and either a packed lunch or £2.00 for dinner.

After School Club Information

Drama Club is ON, on Monday 10th July.

Line Dancing Club will take place on Wednesday 12th July at 3.30-4.30pm, and the show will be on Thursday 13th July at 6.30pm.
