NEWSLETTER FOR 15th MAY 2006
GENERAL INFORMATION
Tweak of the Week for week commencing Tuesday 18th April is ´Say You Are Sorry When Necessary´.
Well done to the pupils who had their SAT and QCA tests all last week - especially those who weren’t feeling too well, but still came to school.
The class photo order forms have been distributed this week. One order form per family has been sent out as you can order more than one photo on each form. Please ensure you complete the order form and the details on the front of the envelope. Your completed order needs to be returned to school by Friday 18th May please.
We have had a number of instances of ´Slapped Cheek Syndrome´ in school recently. This is a mild virus, spread from person to person by coughs and sneezes. It is characterised by a bright red colour on the cheeks (hence the name) followed by a lacy pink rash on the body. This virus is difficult to prevent and it is at its most infectious prior to the rash appearing. Once the rash has appeared, it is no longer infectious and children need not be excluded from school. Pregnant women who come into contact with the virus should consult their GP.
As the lovely weather is now with us, please could we appeal to parents who collect children from the two school yards at the end of the day. Whenever possible, we will be taking classes outside either for PE or for lessons and as such there will be children on the yards until the end of the day. Therefore, please could you not access the yards until the very end of the school day, so as not to distract any classes working outside. Thank you.
Please could you send any last Puffin Book Club orders on Monday 15th May, so that we can get them sent off. Thank you.
Coumes Spring Children’s Centre is celebrating its 10th Anniversary and will be having an Open Day and Birthday Party on Sunday 21st May from 1.00-4.00pm. All are welcome to join the celebrations.
