GENERAL INFORMATION

Tweak of the Week for week commencing Monday 12th June is ´Listen To Others´

We have a clerical vacancy in the School Office on Wednesday and Fridays, 8.30am - 3.30pm. Applicants should be able to work well under pressure, have good communication skills, a good telephone manner and general office experience including word processing, knowledge of First Aid procedures would be an advantage. Starting in September 2006, the post will be Scale 11-13 £13,854-14,523 pro-rata x 38 weeks - £7.18 per hour. Application packs are available from Coumes office - closing date Friday 23rd June.

As the sunny weather is truly upon us, please could parents ensure children are suitably protected from the sun during their breaks. Tops should cover shoulders, a hat should be worn at lunchtime and ideally an application of all-day sun tan lotion should be applied before school. (There is a particularly good sun tan lotion called P20 available from most good chemists which is a once a day application and is waterproof and not greasy). Baseball caps £2.30 and legionnaire hats £2.50 (with a neck flap) are available for purchase from the Coumes Office. May we also remind parents that children should still dress in accordance with the school dress code - navy or black plain shorts or trousers, navy, red or white tops, gingham dresses are fine and all children should wear socks. .

With immediate effect - the LEA Absence Passes will only be given to those pupils who have appointments in the city centre. Parents are still requested to complete the leave of absence request, but will only receive the parental confirmation slip back, which they should keep handy during the appointment.

Don’t forget the Children With Leukeamia marathon takes place on Tuesday 13th June - keep collecting sponsors and also bring a bottle of water in case it is very warm!!

Our football team have been in action again, they played a friendly against Marlcliffe School on Wednesday 7th June. Oughtibridge won 3-0 with George Maris scoring 2 goals and Rowan Horrocks scoring 1. Well done to the whole team.

There is an SOS meeting on Monday 12th June at 9.00am in the Don building staff room. All welcome.

If you want to join in with a race, you MUST be wearing appropriate footwear - eg, trainers or plimsolls, and sensible clothing, if the Stewards feel that you are unsuitably dressed you will not be allowed to take part for your own, and other’s, safety.
