Well done!

Craze of the Week for next week
Coumes: Ball Games     Don: Parachute Games

The Lunchtime Supervisors will be running Craze of the Week for each building during lunchtime breaks. The children will have a different activity to enjoy each week. Thank you to SOS for funding this activity for all the children to enjoy.

Praise postcards have been sent home this week to Luke Hobson, Louise Grant and Maxwell Williams for working so hard on their writing.

Don’t forget it is the KS2 Karaoke and Disco on Thursday. Tickets are still available if your child would like to go. It will run from 3.30 – 4.30pm in the Coumes Hall. Only Y5 and Y6 children who we have received written parental permission to walk home on their own will be able to do this. All other children will need to be picked up from the Coumes building. Refreshments will be on sale and your child will need no more than £1.20 should they wish to buy anything.

If you have any Tesco vouchers at home could you please send these to the Coumes office so that they can be counted – we have already received over 7000!

On Monday and Tuesday children from Miss Lowey’s class will be on the junior yard selling plants that the gardening club have grown. The plants will be 50p each or £1 for a larger pot of chives. All money taken from the sale will be spent on materials and resources for work on the environment in PHSE. Could we please ask that you bring your own carrier bag if you would like to purchase any plants.

A reminder that the School Council is selling fruit during morning break on Tuesday – Friday at 20p each.

There are several items of clothing that have been left in Miss Higgins’ class that have no names in them. Please reclaim any ‘lost’ items asap.

Thank you to all the parents who attended the Y3/4 Fairtrade Coffee morning. Not only did your contribution to the refreshments cover a week of ‘tasting and sampling’ for the children, it also covered the cost of the making of the buns, muffins, cakes etc and the tea and coffee. The ‘entrepreneurs’ in Y3/4 have made enough of a profit to be able to buy some lego accessories for each class and some footballs for the children in St Andrews Lower Basic School in The Gambia. Well done to everyone, it was a marvellous week and a super coffee morning.

A reminder that there is a Human Growth and Development meeting for the parents of Y3/4 children on Monday at 3.30pm in Mrs Wilson’s classroom.

On Tuesday the Y5/6 pupils will be enjoying the Tempus Fugit Educational Theatre Group’s production of Ancient Greeks as part of their work on Grand Designs and Ancient Greece.

On Wednesday the Y6 children will be going to the Magna Centre at Rotherham to visit the South Yorkshire Police Crucial Crew event. They will need a packed lunch, warm waterproof coat and sensible footwear.

On Thursday a selected group of Y4 boys will be going to Stocksbridge High School for a tennis lesson. They are due back at school at 5.30pm and will need their school PE kit, trainers and a water bottle.

We would like to remind you that the FS and KS1 Sports Day is on 17th June and the KS2 Sports Day is on 18th June.

The dates of the Transition meetings have been changed and are now:

Further details will be sent to you nearer the time but we thought you would like to know the change of dates in advance.

Could all class photo orders please be returned to the office by Monday ensuring that your child’s name and order is clearly marked on the proof as well as the envelope. The Y6 classmate photos have been sent home today. Any orders for these need to be returned to school by no later than Wednesday 19th May.
