Well done!
Well done to all the children in Y3/4BW who took part in the LINKs Dance Festival at The Octagon on Wednesday. The children were fantastic and performed brilliantly. They were a real credit to the school. Thank you to Miss Lowey for organising this opportunity and to all the parents who went along to support the children.
Well done to the Y4 basketball team who came joint first on Monday night. They are now through to the Finals at All Saints School in April. Thank you to Miss Lowey again for organising this event and to the parents for their support.
The ‘Cookathon’ on Tuesday was huge success. All the children took part in cooking a healthy lunch, we collected 1613 pledges to make the pasta with fresh tomato sauce. I hope you all enjoyed it if you made it at home. The school certainly had an Italian aroma throughout the day. Thank you to Mrs Little for organising this event which helped to raise the profile of healthy eating and develop the children’s cooking skills. We have so many good cooks – Mrs Revitt in the school kitchen had better watch out! Emily Antcliff collected the most pledges and won the ‘Italian’ hamper.
Thank you to all the parents who supported the Y3/4 Viking Day by sending the children to school in some marvellous Viking costumes. The staff and parent helpers were fully kitted out as well. I know the children thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Vikings in this way – they even cooked up a Viking feast which they all enjoyed eating at the end of the day.
The last date for milk order to be received in school was today. No more orders can be accepted.
We supported Sports Relief through wearing sports gear and red stripy socks. We raised £474 for Sports Relief from the sale of socks and dressing up, thank you to everyone for joining in.
The Y6 pupils are practising for their SATs during the coming week – the results from these tests form part of the children’s assessment for the term. Please ensure your child has completed their homework and that they have been using SAM learning to help with their revision in order that the children are as prepared as they can be.
Could we please remind all pupils who are attending the Easter Maths School to return their forms to Miss Firth on Monday, if they haven’t all ready.
SOS have sent out their raffle tickets to win a wonderful hamper which includes a £25 voucher to spend at Crawshaws along with Easter eggs, biscuits and much more. Second prize in the raffle is a £50 voucher to spend at Captured Photography. Please ensure your money and ticket stubs have been returned to the office by Friday 26th March to have a chance of winning.
We would like to remind you that the total amount of £315 for the Y6 PGL residential needs to be paid by Thursday 1st April.
Friday 26th is a kite making day for Y5/6 classes in which they will be developing their problem solving and Design and Technology skills.
Several items of lost property have been found which include a single gold Creole earring, pair of silver earrings and a pink MP3 player. If you have lost any of these items please see Mrs Pattinson in the Don Building office.
A pair of black size 4 girls shoes are missing from the Don building. If you have picked them up in error please bring them to the office so they can be passed onto the correct person.
We have been advised that there have been a couple of cases of headlice within school. By using wet combing regularly you can pick up infection early, treat immediately and help protect your family.
