The Fit4football Hot Shot Challenge is now only on Tuesday next week. Y4 children will have the opportunity to do this challenge after the half term holiday due to them being at Castleton. Children will need to wear appropriate footwear. Please don’t forget to collect sponsors to help raise money for the ‘Wish Upon a Star’ charity and the school so that we can purchase playground equipment for ourselves and our link school in The Gambia.
A reminder that the Y4 children will be going on their Castleton residential next week. They do not need to wear school uniform but comfortable outdoor clothing instead. They will also need a packed lunch on the first day. Any medicines need to be clearly labelled and put in their bag and the teacher told when they arrive.
The external tests have finally finished for Y6! However they will be completing their Science test on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th May. Please ensure they are ready for learning in order for them to do their best.
It is Technology Week for everyone apart from Y3/4 (they have already done this as the Y4 children are at Castleton next week). We are sure they will have an enjoyable week.
A praise postcard has been sent home this week to Archie Wood for being very polite and showing his good manners.
Could all KS1 children bring some newspapers into school next week to be used in their Technology Week projects.
We are still collecting Tesco vouchers and need a few more to be able to ‘purchase’ some more Lego – please ask any family or friends if they have any and look in the bottom of handbags and purses for any you may have – every one will make a difference! Sainsburys vouchers are also still being collected.
We hope that all the KS2 children enjoyed their Karaoke and Disco last night. SOS have raised £315 and would like to say thank you to everyone who helped and supported the event.
Premier Team Coaching are running a holiday activity club on Tuesday – Friday during half term. If you would like a leaflet please contact the school office.
Please note that on 9th June we are lucky enough to have ‘Expo Chef’ in school who will be demonstrating how to cook and create healthy recipes. This helps to support our ‘Let’s Get Cooking’ initiative in school.
We would like to remind you that dogs are not allowed anywhere within school grounds. We have had several cases of children walking into school with dirty shoes.
A reminder that there is be no parking on the zigzag lines outside school on Naylor Road at any time. This is dangerous and inconsiderate, please ensure you park appropriately.
May we remind you that if your child arrives late they must go to the school office so that they can be marked into the register don’t go to the classroom door.
PE kits including pumps or trainers must be in school each week from Monday to Friday. Could we please ask you that you check that the footwear in your child’s PE bag still fits them – we have had several cases of them now being too small for them to wear.
There is a proof copy of the Y6 group classmates photo in the window of the Don office. If parents would like to place an order, please see Mrs Pattinson before 28th May. Prices are £8 for a 7x5 or £10 for a 10x7 – other prices are available from the Don office. Cheques need making payable to ESP.
