Well done!

Well done to all the children who took part in the Whirlow residential visit – they have been brilliant and had a great time. Thank you to Mrs Wilson and Miss Lowey for all their hard work in running the week.

Thank you to Mrs Shepherd and her gang of helpers for baking the end of half term biscuit treat - £45.96 was raised for SOS.

Well done to Rori Mokotjo, William Telford and Joel Cutts who represented the school at an ICT day at the City Learning Centre. The children were using up to date technology and worked alongside children for other local schools. Miss Holt was very proud of the children.

I am very pleased to inform you that Miss Susan Allen has been appointed to take the new Foundation Stage class for the Spring and Summer term. We are very much looking forward to Mrs Allen joining the staff.

We would like to remind you that the entrance into school from Alford Avenue/Footgate Close will be closed for at least the Monday and Tuesday after half term and possibly all that week whilst work is being done to improve the path into school.

Could we please ask that all uniform is checked to ensure that you have not got anybody else’s jumpers etc as we have had lots of enquiries regarding missing uniform especially those that do have a name in them.

Children in Miss Firth’s Literacy Group will need to bring their wellies, a waterproof jacket, some old trousers and gloves for their lesson on Wednesday 4th November for a secret mission.

Congratulations to Jessica Bush who has won the competition to design the label being used on this year’s Christmas Pudding. Well done to everyone who entered, Mr Somerset had a very difficult job to decide the winner. £25 50 has been raised for SOS funds. If you would still like to order a Christmas pudding please ensure your order is with us on Monday 2nd November.

SOS have also sent a quiz home all about Halloween. If you would like to enter please send the quiz back with your £1 entry fee by Wednesday 4th November.

The next Bags 2 School collection is on Wednesday 4th November. All bags should only come into school either on the evening of Tuesday 3rd or before 9am on Wednesday 4th November. Any lost property still in school will be sent to Bags 2 School so please ensure you have checked both lost property boxes.

An Adidas Rucksack has been lost in school following the Whirlow Residential. This rucksack contains overnight clothes, a torch, slippers, towel etc. If your child has taken this home by mistake please return to school as soon as possible. Thank you.

Could you please ensure that your child brings their PE kit to school on the first Monday back and leaves it in school for the half term. We are having an increasing number of children who have forgotten their PE kits.

There is a special Bonfire Night Lunch menu on Thursday 5th November. Please see the menu for full details.

School is now closed for half term and will re-open on Monday 2nd November. We hope you have a lovely break!
