Well done to England – the winning team in both the Infant and Junior Sports Day. Many thanks to Mark Todd and the SUFC football coaches for all their support – check out www.sufc.co.uk for a report on Sports Day! ‘England win the World Cup at Oughtibridge’.

Thank you to all the Y5/6 parents who came to watch ‘School Daze’. The children did very well. Thank you to all the Y5/6 staff for all their help with the performances.

Praise postcards have been sent home to Joseph Hill for working hard on his homework task and to Finley Bates and Ewan Pendleton for working hard on the Science project and producing a brilliant powerpoint presentation.

Could we please remind you that no children should be climbing the gates or the fences before or after school.

Praise postcards have been sent home to Joseph Hill for working hard on his homework task and to Finley Bates and Ewan Pendleton for working hard on the Science project and producing a brilliant powerpoint presentation.

A reminder to Y6 children going to Bradfield that they have a Transition day at Bradfield School on Monday 12th July and a Sports Transition Day on 20th July.

The Post16 North West Learning Partnership meeting is in the Coumes Hall at 4pm on Monday. The Y2 parents who are attending the Whirlow Residential meeting at 3.30pm will be finished by 4pm should you wish to attend.

It is Environment Week next week. The children will be doing lots of exciting activities. Some of the Y3/4 children will be making metal leaf sculptures with Mr Askham. All the children will be investigating endangered species with a view to creating a totem pole depicting these animals.

Y2NH and Y1/2GH are visiting the RSPB centre on Monday. Y1CL will go on their visit on Tuesday. The children will need to bring a packed lunch, a drink, a waterproof/sunhat and wellies/trainers both dependent on the weather. Please do not encourage your child to come to you in the yard if you see them on their return as all children will need to return to their classes after the trip to be dismissed as normal.

Sheffield United Fit for Football coaches are spending the day teaching the Y6 pupils who are not going to PGL all about leading a healthier lifestyle. Lunch is provided by Waitrose!

The Transition meeting for FS and Y1 parents is on Wednesday 30th June 5-6pm in the Coumes Hall.

The Transition meeting for Y2 & Y3 parents is on Thursday 1st July 5-6pm in the Don Hall.

Thank you to Bill Salter who took drumming workshops with the children. We hope the children will show off their skills at the Gala on Saturday. Thank you to the Oughtibridge Gala Committee who organised this.

The Gala takes place this Saturday with Kate Spencer, Gala Princess leading the parade off with her attendants Lisa Calderbank and Anna Muirhead from the top of Birks Wood Drive at 12.30pm. They will be officially opening the event at 1.00pm in the park.

The Y6 football team won 4-0 at home to Parson Cross on Friday the 18th of June. They played excellently and could easily have won by a wider margin. With the World cup in mind, both teams then took part in a penalty shoot out with Oughtibridge again coming out on top.

The first Y6 Bikeability course is on 8th and 9th July with the second course being on 15th and 16th July. All attendees have had individual letters confirming their attendance. A course booklet will be sent home on Monday 5th July and this needs to have been read before the course starts.

Park Rangers are coming in on Tuesday to work with Y3/4JL to build bird boxes. They would need to bring a packed lunch or order a Grab a Bag on this day.

If anybody has any Sainsburys vouchers could you please send them to the office so they can be added to the 5000 already collect.
