NEWSLETTER FOR 25th SEPTEMBER 2006

GENERAL INFORMATION

Tweak of the Week for week commencing Monday 17th July is ´Don’t Let Your Fears Stop You´

We are again receiving complaints from our neighbours adjoining school premises regarding parking before and after school. Please be considerate when bringing your vehicle close to school – do not obstruct people’s access to their homes, driveways and garages and take care to observe the double yellow lines and hatched areas marked for your children’s safety. We are still operating the voluntary one-way system on Naylor Road – enter from the Haggstones Road end and leave via Church Street, this does help keep the flow moving!

Last week we offered our Y3, Y4 and Y5 children the chance to start guitar lessons. Unfortunately there has been insufficient interest for lessons to take place; another 5 children would be required to make this opportunity feasible. Please let Miss Wilkinson, Y5/6 teacher, know in writing by Monday 25th September, if your child would be interested. They would need to have their own guitar.

May we remind parents that school meals must be paid for at the beginning of the week, or half-term. In extreme circumstances payment on the day is acceptable. If a meal is ordered by your child, but no payment has been received, the office staff will telephone parents to either bring sufficient money or sandwiches to school prior to the dinner break.

If anyone has an unwanted booster seat at home, we would be most grateful of any donations that we can store for use during school trips and visits. Thank you.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, takes place on Friday 29th September from 10.00-12.00am, at the Zion Church Hall on Langsett Road South. There will also be a bring and buy stall – so why not go along and help raise funds for this worthwhile cause.

We have a number of leaflets for the Sheffield Wednesday October half-term soccer camps for girls and boys aged 6-13 years. Please collect one from the filing cabinet in Coumes reception if you are interested.

Could you please also ensure that the home school agreements and the permission slips for photos/jewellery have also been returned to school.
