Well done!
Thank you to all the Foundation Stage parents who attended the Phonics Workshop on Wednesday. We hope you found it useful.
The first of the Parenting Workshops is on Wednesday 30th September – it is not too late to join. Do come along 8.00 – 10.00pm in the Coumes Hall. We look forward to seeing you there for an interesting and informative evening.
It was great to see so many parents and children at the SOS Orienteering Event on Tuesday. The sun shone and the smell of hotdogs and onions whetted our appetites. Thank you to everyone who helped especially Mrs Little, Mrs Revitt and the Y7 pupils who organised the games. A total of £98.92 has been raised.
Don’t forget that Parents Evenings are on Tuesday 29th September and Thursday 1st October. The meetings are in the Coumes Hall for children in the Coumes building and in the Don Hall for children in the Don building (including Miss Holts). The gates around school will be open.
On Wednesday 30th September the Y5/6 children are going to Eden Camp. Children will need to be at school by 8.15am so the coach will be able to leave promptly at 8.30am. They will be returning to school at 4.30pm and please ensure your collection arrangements slip and initial permission slip have been signed and returned to school by Tuesday. Children will need to wear their school uniform, suitable footwear and a warm waterproof coat. They will need a packed lunch and may take no more than £3 spending money.
Although teachers are able to have a quick word with parents on the playground in the mornings could we ask that if you do have any issues that you make an appointment to see the teacher at another time, this will allow all classes to start their registration on time. Thank you.
Could we please check that you have your own child’s uniform at home. There have been many cases reported this week of uniform going missing which does have the child’s name inside.
May we remind you the earrings are not allowed to be worn for PE. A letter has been sent out and the details are also in our prospectus.
We would like to remind all Y6 parents that the deadline for applications for secondary school is Friday 16th October.
Could you please send any Nestle Book Tokens into school next week as we have a bonus banking week which allows us more money per token to spend on books. We are also collecting Morrison’s Lets Grow Vouchers, stamps and mobile phones. We do not now collect any ink cartridges.
If you have a child who was born between 1st September 2005 and 31st August 2006 you now need to apply for a school place. You can collect an application pack from the school or save time by applying online at www.sheffield.gov.uk/pupiladmissions
We would like to remind you that week beginning 5th October is our Harvest Make, Bake ‘n’ Cake Week. We are requesting that buns and biscuits are made and brought into school on set days of the week for each class. A reminder of the days will be put in next weeks newsletter.
