GENERAL INFORMATION

The Thunk this Week is – ‘What if… full stops hadn’t been invented?’

Well done!

It is English Week on the theme of ‘Colourful Characters’ next week. The children’s author David Harmer is in school all day on Monday and the poet Craig Bradley is working with the children on Tuesday. They will both have copies of their books to sell and will be priced between £5 and £6. The Crucible Theatre in Education are performing ‘There’s Only One Wayne Matthew’s’ for the Y5/6 children on Wednesday.

To celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 4th March the children are invited to come dressed up as a Colourful Character from a book. All Y3 children will be able to change into their costumes when they return from swimming. They will also need to be able to talk a little bit about their character.

The Travelling Book Fair is still in school on Monday and Tuesday from 3.30pm until 4.00pm in the Coumes Hall.

The Basketball Team are playing at All Saints School on Thursday – good luck to them.

A praise postcard has been sent home to Cameron Nell for completing some excellent work with editing his film.

A reminder that Y5/6CD and Y3/4BW will need to bring in their costumes for their dance on Wednesday afternoon. Both classes need a black top and black shorts or trousers.

Could all permission slips for the Y3/4BW Dance Festival on Wednesday 17th March please be sent to Miss Lowey as soon as possible.

We would like to remind you that the SAM Learning sessions begin next week for Y5 and Y6 pupils.

The incubator arrives in the Foundation Stage classes next week. We are hoping to hatch a good many of the eggs.

SOS would like to say thank you to Mrs Galloway for applying for match funding from HSBC. They have received a cheque for £170.

SOS will be holding their next meeting on Wednesday 3rd March at 7pm in the Don Building. Anyone is welcome to come along to the meeting.

We would like to advise you that we are now collecting Sainsbury’s vouchers, Flora tokens and Nestle Book Tokens. If you have any of these please send them to the school office.

Jane Burbidge, our School Travel Plan Advisor came into school today to present the children with a wonderful piece of finished art work the Y1/2 and Y3/4 children have done.

We are selling Sports Relief Socks in sizes 9-12, 12.5-3.5 and 4-7 for £2 per pair. All the money goes to the Sports Relief Charity. If you would like to purchase any socks please send the money in an envelope with your child’s name, class and sock size required.

Animal Tracker, a magazine which Eildh McKay and Olivia Addy have designed will be on sale from Wednesday at a cost of £1. They will come round the classrooms in the afternoon if your child would like to purchase a magazine. The proceeds from this sale will be going to the RSPCA.

CLASS NEWS AND INFORMATION:

Miss Mettam’s class will be taken by Mrs Jackson on the afternoon of Monday 1st March.

After School Club Information

Due to the Travelling Book Fair using the Coumes Hall, Mondays Playball session will be in the Don Hall, Mr Delaney’s Football club will be held at lunchtime and on Tuesday Badminton is cancelled.
