NEWSLETTER FOR 30TH APRIL 2007

GENERAL INFORMATION

Tweak of the Week is ´Tell the Truth´

Best attendance class last week – Miss Churchard, Mrs Sharp, Mrs Little and Mr Milner - well done!
Raffle ticket winner last week was – Lois Carroll
Well done!

Please note that Monday 5th November 2007 will be a curriculum day.

As you may be aware there have been complaints from residents on Naylor Road regarding some inconsiderate parking. Please park with care and avoid double parking or parking across residents’ drives or parking on the zigzag lines outside school. Thank you.

A reminder that pupils must not bring a mobile phone into school. If a mobile phone is required for emergency use after school it must be handed to the school office on arrival at school in the morning and collected at the end of the day. In no circumstances should pupils carry mobile phones with them during the day.

The teachers would like to thank all the parents for preparing the children well for their trip to Castleton last week. The weather was extremely kind to us and the visit was a great success. The children proved to be a credit to the school both in behaviour and manners!

Well done to Matthew Ensor, Jessica Corker, Harry Chapman, Rosie Perkins, Harry Hartley, Sophie Atkinson, Ethan Webster, Olivia Carroll, Bradley Webster, Emma Wall, Ben Newton and Lucy Yates who recently took part in an advertising campaign for Vision Windows and are featured on the Radio (Hallam FM) advert.

The Bags to School collection is on the morning of Wednesday 2nd May. Could you please bring along the bags after school on Tuesday or on Wednesday morning only. Bags can be put in the covered walkway (taking care not to damage any of the plants), as we have nowhere to store the bags before this. The more bags are brought in the more money is raised for SOS funds. Thank you for your support.

A reminder for all parents that if they would like to help out in the classrooms or on school trips you need to have clearance from the Criminal Records Bureau – please contact the office for the appropriate forms. Thank you.

When members of staff/parent helpers are taking pupils in their own cars to events, you must provide a booster set for your child if they are under the age of 12 or 135cm in height. Thank you.

As the weather begins to warm up could you please ensure your child brings a water bottle with them each day. They are able to refill the bottles during the day but we do not have any spare bottles available.

If you want to order any school uniform the order forms are available in the parent drawer in the Coumes reception or on our website. Orders must be in the school office by Friday mornings for delivery via your child the following Friday.

Oughtibridge Brownies – Wendy Collins would like some help potting up the plants that each school pupil will be taking home with them for this year’s Adopt a Plant Scheme. After the meeting on Tuesday 1st May the Brownies are invited to go to Wendy’s home to help with this job. Please contact Jane on 2862168 if you would like your child to take part.

A reminder that the selection panel for the Gala Prince/Princess and attendants will take place in the Coumes Hall on Tuesday 1st May at 3.30pm.
